Dr. Kayla Brown, DNP, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who is proud to provide care to the community she has called home her entire life. A lifelong resident of Johnston County, Dr. Brown earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Dr. Brown worked as a registered nurse in perioperative services, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and intensive care. These experiences provided her with a broad clinical foundation and fostered a deep appreciation for compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Brown joined Benson Health in October 2025. Her clinical interests include women’s health, preventive care, health equity, and providing high-quality care to underserved populations. She is passionate about building strong relationships with her patients and partnering with them to support their health and well-being throughout every stage of life.
Outside of work, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with her husband and their two boys. You can usually find her at a sporting event, either cheering them on from the sidelines or cheering right alongside them – although she’ll always be cheering for the Wolfpack! She is proud to call Johnston County home and is excited to serve the community where she was born and raised.
